(искать usbcore.autosuspend)
По многочисленным репортам проявляется на Canon LIDE25, ещё на
некоторых Canon'ах и Epson'ах (сканнерах) с ядрами 2.6.22
(возможно и 2.6.21). На 2.6.24 вроде починили, на 2.6.18 этой
USB_SUSPEND-возможности ещё не было, поэтому работает.
Исходя из вышеперечисленного, помогает
echo "options usbcore autosuspend=-1" >>/etc/modprobe.d/options
