Видимо не находит какие-то библиотеки для direct rendering? Или сам драйвер?

Пока сделал так: через alterator-x11 выставил снова ATI Radeon, нажал
'Test' и словил совершенно чёрный экран. Никакие "магические"
сочетания клавиш не помогли - система просто умерла.
Перегрузился, X стартовал и всё заработало (!) mesa gears показывает
~670 FPS (было ~140). У меня уже такое счастье было, но не знаю что
будет после перезагрузки...

Непонятно почему так не поставилось с самого начала, когда я через
alterator-x11 сменил установленный во время инсталляции ATI (generic)

Насколько понимаю -- грабли всё того же скрипта из fglrx,
который уложили в drvpre.d/ вместо drv.d/

Заметил вот ещё что. Нахожусь в KDE, mesagears летает, очевидно direct
rendering - работает. Открываю другой tty, запускаю там X с
WindowMaker - direct rendering НЕ работает. Может что-то конкретно
отломано в WindowMaker? Или нельзя две сессии X с direct rendering?

На Driver "ati" -- нельзя, на "nvidia" -- можно, по своему опыту.
