Имеется материнка на nForce4, на ней SATA SiI 3132, пара винтов IDE,
один Сигейт САТА (системный). Периодически все замирает, и в логи
высыпается вот такое:

Иногда цепочка продолжается UDMA100->66->33->25->16->PIO4->PIO2, далее,
видимо просто падать уже некуда, и система продолжает работать, но
скорость работы ниже плинтуса. Кто виноват? Дохлый винт? Дохлый шлейф?
Несовместимость винта и контроллера? (пробовал на обоих
САТА-контроллерах). Нужно другое (более новоя ядро)?

Прочая информация в аттаче. Температуры винтов по 40 градусов примерно.
Остальное в системе тоже не очень горячее. Да и проблемы с САТА
наблюдались и при прохладное обстановке.
P.S. А сегодня еще и привод отказался писать ДВД... Видимо жара добила
его окончательно, а ведь совсем новый, и два месяца толком не проработал...

Вечером попробую.
Судя по гуглу, это воспроизводится на Сигейтах у множества людей, на
lkml.org периодически попадаются сообщения со схожими симптомами. Но
диагноз так и не поставили, что-то патчат в ядре и ссылаются на
аппаратные проблемы :(
Сдается мне, что пора завязывать с Сигейтами и приводами NEC. Срок их
работы упал на 3-4 месяцев :(

Это ошибки обмена по интерфейсу SATA:
SERR_10B_8B_ERR = (1 << 19), /* 10b to 8b decode error */

1.5 Gbps с помощью соответствующей перемычки на диске (программное

Я вот на годик-два завязал после многолетнего использования
(от Decathlon 1.2 до Barracuda 200). Разве что SCSI есть.

у меня был баг один, на 3ware 8550
массив ломался постоянно,
постоянно была ресинхронизация...
замена родных кабельков сата на такие-же помогла в раз.
дисков было 5...

наталкивались. Я вроде бы даже сюда писал о filesystem corruption на
x86_64-машине с 4G памяти. Но то похоже была проблема с драйвером, а для
девяток он таки другой.

висит без движения, поскольку нет соответствующего железа для проверки.

Более того, 3ware 9xxx, в отличие от 8xxx, поддерживают 64-bit DMA,
поэтому для них при наличии >= 4G RAM не требуется использование IOMMU
(отсутствием аппаратной реализации которого отличается реализация x86_64
от Intel).
