Вообще нужно смотреть запись из /proc/bus/usb/devices (просто
vendor/product id для USB-устройств не даёт полной информации).
Однако если там информация такая же, как приведена тут:

тогда поможет только смена адаптера - судя по дескриптору устройства,
оно использует какой-то нестандартный протокол обмена (большинство
аналогичных адаптеров имеют класс 0xfe/0x02 и используют стандартный
протокол USB-IrDA; наиболее часто встречающееся исключение - SigmaTel
STIr4200).
