На моей памяти был винт, который не хотел работать (хотя и
определялся) в случае, когда он был Slave, а Master на том же шлейфе
отсутствовал. Я сейчас не вспомню подробности и кто был виноват (сам
винт, IDE контроллер, ОС... а может так и надо?). Я тогда просто
сделал его Master, и все заработало. Не пробовали такой вариант?
