Эта проблема давно известна, и не должна приводить к невозможности
установки системы.

А вот это вроде бы раньше ни у кого не наблюдалось.
Читаемость диска именно на этом приводе проверялась? Что в этот
момент выводится на других консолях?
Ещё можно попробовать при загрузке дописать в параметры ядра опцию:
ramdisk_size=70000
