firewall не настроен. А что, firewall устанавливается по умолчанию?
При установке в режиме эксперта выбор пакетов не делал.

Еще какая-то странность: при запуске системы , начинает запускаться kudzu
и определяет модем RSS I0303 Conexant FM-56SA-SCD,
а разве kudzu определяет внешние модемы?
