Hi!
Возникла необходимость на старом железе поднять Linux.
Железо такое: Celeron 300A, ASUS P2B-F, 256 RAM , ASUS Riva TNT 16 Мб
Было перепробовано множество сборок, в данный момент стоит AltLinux Desktop
4.1.1.
Драйвера от Nvidia то ли криво встали то ли вообще не работают, трудно
сформулировать вопрос, в общем симптомы такие:
1. nvidia-settings - говорит, что драйвера не работают.
2. KDE 3.5 вполне себе живёт и почти не тормозит, но Compiz падает.
3. Самое обидное - в консоли (которая ttyx) изображение крышесносящие -
как-бы его описать.. г-м - крупные буквы, размером почти на пол-экрана,
разорваны на отдельные квадратики белого цвета - та ещё картинка.
PS Руками ничего не правил, драйвера - только те, что поставленные были
автоматом..
