Since nobody saw fit to post an XEmacs April Fool's Day joke, I'll do
what any good XEmacs programmer does when he perceives a missing
feature: sync from GNU Emacs. :-)

After more than 30 years I think it's time to rewrite emacs from scratch.
I would be happy to hear your suggestions about the best language to use.
At the moment I think that Perl would be the best fit, because of its acronym:
Perfect emacs rewriting language.

By the way, yes, I bit. I have my excuses, but really the only saving
grace was that I figured it out for myself ... unfortunately, only
after hitting C-c C-c. :-)
