Не нашёл тред про иконки в evolution в KDE и других DE, поэтому начну новый.
В общем для решения этой проблемы достаточно прописать
в ~/.gtkrc-2.0

gtk-icon-theme-name = "gnome"

Возможно лучше былв бы возможность прописать это в ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde.
Глобально это можно указать в /etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc. У нас он принадлежит
libgtk+2-common. (в fedora например он принадлежит fedora-gnome-theme,
у нас же пока речи о дизайне в гноме пока не идёт? )
Я так понимаю локальные настройки пользователя (~/.gtkrc-2.0 или
gnome-setting-daemon) будут перекрывать глобальную настройку, поэтому
есть смысл уже сейчас добавить это в /etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.
