Я выбирал среду для обучения, поэтому у меня подход специфический.
Выводы:
IDLE очень простая, но в крайнем случае и она сгодится.
Eric хорош, но установить его под Windows даже я бы не взялся, а среда
обязательно должна работать под Windows.
Остается WingIDE-101, она бесплатная и кросс-платформенная, но
проприетарная. Под ALT работает без проблем.
Прочие версии IDE слишком навороченные и тяжелые, поэтому для обучения
непригодны. Но для профессиональной работы, может быть, подойдут,
посмотрите.
