Ну так бинарные пакеты у нас и так есть, в Сизифе. Но это ведь
дистрибутивно-зависимая штука. Пакеты под разные дистрибутивы доступны
на сайтах только очень раскрученных проектов. К тому же, поскольку они
распространяются отдельно от дистрибутива, возникает вопрос об их
достоверноти.
Поэтому upstream обычно только в исходниках.
