Разумеется виноват -Werror. Без него имеем только предупреждение.
В коде теста видим следующее:

char isalpha ();

Это regression в пакете autoconf_2.60-2.65-alt1, повесь, пожалуйста,
баг со ссылкой на своё письмо.  Была в autoconf наша альтовая фича (см.
ALT#2913), которую я нечаянно сломал.   Теперь я знаю, на чём её
тестировать. :)
