В update hook можно выяснить sha1 объекта и дальше работать с ним.
Сейчас это не так ... сейчас скрипты передают сборщику именно
refs/releases/* (я имею ввиду не текущего сборщика, а того который
только пишется).
Чтобы реализовать эту схему нужно будет пропатчить git-fetch-pack
чтобы он мог получать объекты по sha1 ... сейчас он умеет получать
только именованные объекты т.е. refs/heads/ или refs/tags/.
