Я делал такое в 3 этапа:
1. Переименовал и собрал пакет, не меняя версию:
Name: %basename-quitecommon
Provides: %basename = %EVR
2. Удалил пакет %basename из репы (там остался %basename-quitecommon)
3. Собрал свежие версии %basename-quitecommon и %basename-exotic с
Provides: %basename = %EVR
