Так не передаётся же. Что-то где-то не так экранируется, или я не знаю, как его
заэкранировать правильно.

Хм. А вот тут
-x|--exec executable
Check for processes that are instances of this executable (according to /proc/pid/exe ).
не написано, что симлинк расценивается, как конечный файл.
