Какие именно исходники?
Если вы время от времени выполняете git pull, то вы, конечно, можете
расставлять тэги и паковать diff между апстримным и вашим снапшотами,
но зачем?
Гораздо удобнее смотреть изменения, клонировав ваш репозиторий.
