Вроде всё собралось как положено (и grace теперь зависит
от libXm.so.4), но почему тогда так?

# apt-get dist-upgrade
Calculating Upgrade... Done
The following packages will be upgraded
  openmotif
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  grace libXbae

# apt-get install grace                          
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libopenmotif3 openmotif
The following packages will be upgraded
  grace openmotif
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libopenmotif3

PS: ещё буду признателен, если кто глянет вариант
-compat для libXm.so.[123] из PLD и оценит его:
