Никак не могу найти caml/* в частности:
ometastore_stub.c:4:27: error: caml/mlvalues.h: No such file or directory
ometastore_stub.c:5:25: error: caml/memory.h: No such file or directory
ometastore_stub.c:6:23: error: caml/fail.h: No such file or directory
среди ocaml не нашел ни одного -dev, хотя биндинги к С библиотекам
имеются. в спеках биндингов прописана зависимость на просто ocaml, но
сейчас в нем ни одного *.h файла. Куда смотреть?

Не надо "каятся". Можно просто:
$
grep '/caml/mlvalues.h[[:blank:]]' /mnt/data/ALTLinux/Sisyphus/x86_64/base/contents_index
/usr/lib64/ocaml/caml/mlvalues.h ocaml

ИМХО для ocaml - нормально.
Хотя линк %_includedir/caml -> %_libdir/ocaml/caml не помешал бы.
Или даже %_libdir/ocaml/caml -> %_includedir/caml с выносом хэдеров в
ocaml-devel (не думаю, что C-шние хэдеры используются в рантайме ocaml'ом).
