Мне кажется, практически на каждом буке есть PCMCIA bridge.
На большинстве есть батарея.
Могут присутствовать MiniPCI-устройства.
Почти 100% есть LCD-монитор.
Некоторые должно быть возможно выловить по специфическим
кнопочкам (как-то по крайней мере часть из них детектится же?).
И если тебе нужна более-менее надёжная утилита -- то может иметь
смысл набрать таких факторов и с эмпирическими весами да границей
их повешать.
Пару буков и PCMCIA-to-PCI для тестирования на местности могу
предоставить/проверить :)
PS: а ещё в AW когда-то был такой пакет platform-detect, который
по специфическим комбинациям устройств на PCI определял
"платформу", для которой можно предпринимать дальнейшие действия
по автонастройке. У меня есть версия 0.1.1-aw1 -- может, есть
смысл её опубликовать? (лицензия в спеке GPL, авторы -- week@,
ed@, tren@)
