APT Development Team, ΑΥ? ----- Forwarded message from Gustavo Niemeyer ----- Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2002 13:57:05 -0300 From: Gustavo Niemeyer To: apt-rpm@distro.conectiva.com.br, snapshot-users@distro.conectiva.com.br Cc: mvo@debian.org Subject: [Apt-rpm] Synaptic 0.24 I'm pleased to announce that Synaptic 0.24 was just released. As you probably know, Synaptic isn't maintained solely by Conectiva anymore. Conectiva is now working together with the debian developer Michael Vogt (mvo@debian.org) to maintain and improve the Synaptic software (thanks for the great work Michael!). Here are the changes (from the NEWS file) since 0.21, the latest version provided in Conectiva snapshot: 0.24: - "hold" feature implemented. If you mark a package as "hold" no upgrade will ever performed on this package (enable this with "--with-pkg-hold" in configure) - "New Packages" filter improvements (now persistent to a certain extend) - bugfixes and a fix for a nasty memory leak - WINGs version no longer build by default and renamed to wsynaptic (enable it with "--with-wings") - GTK version now called "synaptic" - Implemented vendors.list edition support - Reworked sources.list edition dialog. 0.23: - new repository dialog (shamelessly stolen from deity-gtk, thanks to Patrick Cole ) - small ui improvements 0.22: - added working "Suggestions/Recommendations" - added Dependencies display of the available version (to preview if the newest available version has different dependencies) You can fetch the source code at: http://people.debian.org/~mvo/synaptic/ Conectiva's snapshot users will be able to install the packages after the next sync. Michael already sent the package for Debian's unstable as well. -- Gustavo Niemeyer [ 2AAC 7928 0FBF 0299 5EB5 60E2 2253 B29A 6664 3A0C ] _______________________________________________ Apt-rpm mailing list Apt-rpm@distro.conectiva.com.br http://distro.conectiva.com.br/mailman/listinfo/apt-rpm ----- End forwarded message ----- -- ldv
