Когда-то давно говорилось о том, что для указания русских переводов
Summary и %description следует указывать полное название локали и все
будет перекодироваться на лету. Похоже нет этого.

$ echo $LANG $LANGUAGE
ru_RU.KOI8-R ru_RU.KOI8-R

$ rpm -q --qf 'Summary: %{SUMMARY}\nGroup: %{GROUP}\nDescription: %{DESCRIPTION}\n' wmCalClock
Summary: Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker
Group: Графические оболочки/Window Maker
Description: Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker. Используют cглаживание шрифтов и тени.

здесь все нормально.

$ LANG=ru_RU.CP1251 LANGUAGE=ru_RU.CP1251 rpm -q --qf 'Summary: %{SUMMARY}\nGroup: %{GROUP}\nDescription: %{DESCRIPTION}\n' wmCalClock
Summary: Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker
Group: цПЮТХВЕЯЙХЕ НАНКНВЙХ/Window Maker
Description: Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker. Используют cглаживание шрифтов и тени.

а вот здесь уже видно, что название группы перекодировалось, а вот Summary
и Description - нет.

$ rpm -q rpm
rpm-3.0.6-ipl24mdk

В wmCalClock.spec написано так:
Summary(ru_RU.KOI8-R): Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker
%description -l ru_RU.KOI8-R
Простенькие, но очень хорошие часы для Window Maker. Используют cглаживание
шрифтов и тени.

Может это у меня глюки?
