----- Forwarded message from Jeff Johnson ----- Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 16:20:15 -0400 From: Jeff Johnson To: rpm-list@redhat.com Subject: Test release of rpm-4.0.3, "Maximum RPM" online Delivered-To: rpm-list@listman.redhat.com Mail-Followup-To: rpm-list@redhat.com X-Mailer: Mutt 0.95.4us Reply-To: rpm-list@redhat.com Several short notes: 1) There's a version of rpm-4.0.3 with several important fixes for 1) --relocate/--prefix relocation problems 2) parameterized macros segfault 3) db1 in rpm-4.0.2 segfaults with corrupted data. at ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/test-4.0.3 Please note that db1 support is gonna be removed from rpm-4.0.3 as rapidly as I can manage, and that db3 support is going to be provided by internalizing a copy of Berkeley DB, none of which has happened yet. Expect changes in rpm-4.0.3 before release. 2) "Maximum RPM" in HTML format is finally packaged at ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/max-rpm/maximu-rpm-1.0-0.YYYYMMDD.noarch.rpm and available on-line at http://www.rpm.org/max-rpm Not much has changed (yet), as I'm still trying to figger how to use docbook macro's efficiently. However, if you want to help edit or write, please send patches against a CVS checkout of max-rpm: cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.rpm.org:/cvs/devel login (no password, just carriage return) cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.rpm.org:/cvs/devel get max-rpm 3) There's doxygen generated rpmlib API docs for rpm-4.1 available online at http://www.rpm.org/rpmapi-4.1 The doco is still pretty meager, but doxygen does a very nice job adding cross references to sources. Almost all of the code from transaction.c down to cpio.c has been rewritten. I will put test packages on ftp.rpm.org as soon as I can figger what is likely to be in the next version of rpm. Please submit bug reports, RFE's, patches, etc as always at http://bugzilla.redhat.com 73 de Jeff -- Jeff Johnson ARS N3NPQ jbj@jbj.org (jbj@redhat.com) Chapel Hill, NC _______________________________________________ Rpm-list mailing list Rpm-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rpm-list ----- End forwarded message ----- Regards, Dmitry +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Dmitry V.
