Доброе время суток.

Открыт ли еще конкурс на новое название дистрибутива?
У меня есть предложить простое слово "Mir".
Во-первых, это посвящение космической станции, под орбитой которой выросло
целое поколение наших пользователей (и разработчиков) и которая через
месяц войдет в плотные слои атмосферы и станет частью истории. Это
название знакомо любому человеку на земшаре, хоть немного интересующемуся
космосом и high-tech. Ассоциируется, по-моему, положительно - с Russians,
которые нет-нет, да и удивят достижением.
Во-вторых, одно из значений русского слова "Мир" соотносится с
интернациональным характером дистрибутива. Я с самого начала уважал
команду Mandrake RE за неприверженность методам "окончательной и
бесповоротной" русификации. Linux and the _whole_ world - это стратегия.
В-третьих, Mir можно (неформально) рассматривать как аббревиатуру:
Mandrake Internationalized in Russia.

Теперь можете швыряться в меня гнилыми томатами :)
