Не люблю я стандартные ядра. И весят они много десятков метров, и
собираются фиг знает сколько, и модулей там ненужных много, и вообще всё
модульно, а не монолитом... А я люблю в menuconfig покопаться, и еще люблю
-pre/-rc версии (сейчас собирается 2.6.2-rc1). В общем - по голове ногами
сильно не пинать, я свое мнение никому не навязываю, делать так не советую
и т.д. ;-)
