Получается следующая картина:
Установлена система Compact2.3. У него ядро 2.4.22-smp.
Далее поставил все rpm-ки с "wks"
# rpm -ivh kernel*
Перезагрузил систему.
В boot-меню выбрал новое появившееся ядро (для win4lin).
Загрузился с него.
Установил Win4Lin, Windows. Все работает без вопросов.
Перезагрузил систему.
В boot-меню выбрал прежнее(старое) ядро.
Запускаю
$ win
Опять все работает. Чудеса да и только.
