Я бы посоветовал под корень примерно 3 Gb.
Не забывайте, что многие сторонние програм. (Adobe, OpenOffice,
Interbase... ) любят \opt
(или сделать \opt отдельно на 2.5-3 Gb)
а для swap в любом случае 512 М достаточно.
На моей практике система более никогда не использует.
