Здравствуйте!
Существуют ли какие-то общие возможности своеобразного ускорения работы
старых видеокарт (Chips&Technologies 65550)под XFree86 3? Своего рода
твики, оптимизация... Наблюдая за нормальной работой карты под оффтопиком,
и сравнивая ее с работой в иксах чувствуется земетная разница не в пользу
последних.. жесткий отбор трети оперативной памяти (из 32мб) только под
иксы (без учета wm, точнее с twm), нехилый размер пакетов,
устанавливающийся по зависимостям..
P.S. Вообще я за последние недели столько дистрибутивов попробовал и
настолько разуверился в Линуксе как десктопной оси на слабых компах, что
теряю всяческую надежду догнать по производительности и занимаемому
размеру и обычному "домашнему" функционалу оффтопик 95 с офисом 97/2000. Я
даже как-то высказался в одном месте по этому поводу -
