Нужно обратить взор на fontconfig, на его файлы настройки в /etc/fonts -
fonts.conf (глобальный файл) или alt-generic-names.conf и
alt-post-user.conf. Лично я добавляю путь к своим ttf-шрифтам в fonts.conf
и там же +2 других файла прописываю первым шрифтом для алиаса sans (sans
serif, monospace) свой шрифт.. Естественно, свои шрифты должны быть
корректно добавлены в систему. Как это делать - один я писал в этой
рассылке и не раз, так что найдете..
