Вот как раз сейчас этим занимаюсь... нужно:
1. Добавить бэкпорты в список репозитарии
2. Обновить список
3. В Синаптике переключить главенство пакетов Мастера на Unknown (у меня
так). НА вкладке Эксперт настроек
Тогда появляются и kdelibs новые и прочие ключевые пакеты, которые
ставятся без проблем..
4. По вкусу - удалить все старое КДЕ
либо обычно с замещением/обновлением + установка совершенно новых пакетов
КДЕ (по структуре и названию)
P.S. Сейчас ставится kdelibs..
