Как всегда: кому надо, тот не знает, кому не надо, тот забыл. Видимо здесь
никому такое не нужно.

Рискну показаться грубоватым, но может быть вы как человек у которого
такого вопроса не возникает (не пользующийся $#@!-ей, которая прячет свой
настройки от "глупого" пользователя), внушите пользователям использовать
что-то нормальное. Или сами настройте им это что-то (и лишите права ломать
настройки).
