Вы не то делаете. Сделайте "rpm -qc pptp-client pppd" и указанные файлы
поправьте под себя (смотря "man pppd"). Потом скажите "#chkconfig
pptptunnel on". Для проверки без перезагрузки скажите "#service pptptunnel
start".

Просто укажите для pppd опцию defaultroute в конфиге.
