Subject: [Comm] dist-upgrate to 5.0 problem

Здравствуйте, прошу помощи:
Была система ALTD 4.1 (засизифленная).
видео Nvidia Riva TNT Model 64
поменял источник обновлений на 5ю ветку
(ftp.linux.kiev.ua/pub/Linux/ALT/5.0/branch)
сделал apt-get dust-upgrade (dist-update - не помню) - скачалось 1.4 гига
обновлений, обновилось.
После чего не могу зайти в Х-ы:
X server died during sturtup
X server for display :0 can't be started, sessipn died
Сделал kernel-update
- после обновления в меню загрузки новое ядро (2.6.27) отсутствует. или оно по
умолчанию становится вместо того, что автоматом загружалось раньше?
На попытку набрать под рутом lilo:
lilo: open /boot/splash/message no such file or directory.
З.Ы. Какие ещё выводы команд / содержания файлов нужны для решения вопроса -
плиз говорите, выложу...
