Расшаривать файл БД - грубая ошибка.
Правильнее - прописать alias в файле aliases.conf и для подключения использовать строку вида
ipaddress:alias

Кроме уже перечисленного выше по треду, можно:
Через isql от linux версии сервера firebird;
Откомпилировать под lazarus собственное приложение, использующее IBConnection;
А если есть желание помучиться :), можно также попробовать запустить windows-программу
из-под wine. По крайней мере написанные на DELPHI приложения, использующие IBX/FIB для
подключения к firebird, работоспособны из-под wine.
