Попробуйте:
subst "s/\.la\"/\.so\"/g" acinclude.m4
subst "s/\.la\"/\.so\"/g" admin/acinclude.m4.in
make -f admin/Makefile.common

P.$.: имхо первый и единственный пользователь knights за всё время его 
существования в сизифе ;)
