Наверное, не загружены соответствующие модули ядра.

А какое у Вас ядро? =)
На самом деле, для разных чипсетов требуются разные модули.
Сообщите модель Вашей материнской платы.
Вы можете самостоятельно поискать датчики командой
sensors-detect из пакета lm_sensors.
