Если потянет. Все зависит от размера базы и необходимых фишек серверов.
Например если у Оракла и МССкля кажется тоже есть встроенная репликация,
то последнее обсуждение для FB года два назад закончилось обсуждением
трех разных стратегий самодельной епликации и когда какую выбирать :)
Впрочем, по сравнению с переносом программы Win->unix, мне кажется это
будет не самая большая из проблем ;)
По Firebird есть хорошее коммьюнити http://ibase.ru/firebird.htm#conf
По тяжелым серверам часто обсуждают и сравнивают в форуме www.rsdn.ru -
правда там вероятно не очень будут обсуждать unix.
И еще вопрос, а что, MS SQL настолько дороже Оракла, что на него денег
не хватает, а на Оракл хватит?
