Я ему сделал нужный девайс родным,
прописал в dosdevices:
~/.wine/dosdevices/d:/PROGRAM FILES/mc8demo
Все что после "d:" -- символическая ссылка
на каталог win-раздела.
Этот раздел в windows именуется "D:\PROGRAM FILES\mc8demo"
