А почему???
Вообще через него работает множество разных SCSI Emulation, в том числе
и традиционный способ запуска CD.
Не знаю, можно ли я ядре 2.4.? от Мастера 2.4 запустить ide_cd
Но правильнее всего, наверное, запустить scsi.

SATA native или cовместный?
Поищи на этом форуме и в sisyphus и hardware слова "SATA" и "Intel"
Вроде на совмещенном режим народ слиьно ругался.
