В сизифе принципиально другое ядро.
kernel 2.4 основан на запуске драйверов по списку (как и должно быть для
серверной (когда-то :) ) операционки ). И дополнительно сверху
запускается программка, которая если надо списки обновляет (kudzu)
В kernel 2.6 по возможности списки отламывают и вместо них делают
Plug-n-Play на этапе загрузки - соотв. kudzu там просто нечего делать.
