А вот не факт. Т.е. не доработка, но не проблема.
Вроде как по RFC, MIME-сообщения (это и e-mail, и nntp и некоторые
instane messengers) не могут содерэать 8-битные символы в заголовках.
Вместо этого они должны их заворачивать в MIME Encapsulation

Т.е. описанное в Сильфиде - плохое error recovery, для писем,
нарушающих RFC (например такие генерятся настроенным по умолчанию
(ненастроенным :;) )) Microsoft Outlook Express.
Считать ли это багом? Русскоязычные дружно закричат "ДА!!!". Буржуины
так же дружно закричат "а шли бы вы..." ;) И формально они более правы :(
PS: по своему опыту сомневаюсь что удасться что-ьл сделать с fido gate,
так что сочувствую.
