После отодвигания .config и пр. в самой Плазме проблема исчезла. Она проявляется, если запустить консоль в xfce4.
Желание странное, но я надеялся избежать переучивания горячих клавиш при смене терминала. В профиле при этом нет никакой
схемы привязки клавиш.
