Ну оно и понятно. Под винды то драйвера производитель чипсета писал.

Гм... Я по моему написал уже. Пишешь scanpci и обнаруживаешь что этот
Trident Cyberblade встречается в списке 7 раз. (у меня по крайней мере 7
раз) Потом в XF86Config прописываешь карточке BusID пробуя каждое из
возможных значений (автоматически по моему просто первое из списка
берется).
У меня в итоге кусок XF86Config-4 с настройкой выглядит так
Section "Device"
Identifier "Trident CyberBlade (generic)"
VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "Unknown"
Driver "trident"
BusID "PCI:1:0:7"
Option "sw_cursor"
Option "DPMS" "on"
EndSection
