Пофиксил, цепочка расследования следующая:
- поиск по фразе "Нераспознанный формат файла изображения
(gdk-pixbuf-error-quark, 3)"
- на убунтовском форуме видим фразу "Issue solved. Missing read
permissions in /usr/share/mime. Was likely caused by a buggy closed
source installer "
- смотрим в каталог /usr/share/mime/image, а там большинство файлов
оказываются нулевой длины. !!!
- смотрим, чья это ответственность, и как результат: apt-get install
--reinstall shared-mime-info
- fixed.
Почему такая фигня вылезла - непонятно, возможно, с файловой системой
системой была проблема.
ЗЫ. да, действительно fsck показал мелкие проблемы...
