Перечитал man sudoers. Обязано работать, если только нет
какой-либо ошибки. Кстати, есть ещё два подозрения:
1. ifconfig перескочил на новую строчку без завершающего '\' в
предыдущей только в письме или в файле тоже?
2. Не ругается ли на что-нибудь visudo (коей и рекомендуется
пользоваться для редактирования sudoers, ибо она отлавливает
часть ошибок)?
