И видим мы, что все прекрасно. Свободно 265704 Мб памяти.
Многих смущает то, что мало именно 'free' памяти. Но линукс
использует память не так, как виндовоз. Линукс забирает сколько
может под буфера диска и кэш. Как только какому-либо приложению
нужна дополнительная память, он сбрасывает буфера и отдает
память. В этом причина того, что у вас начинает работать винт. А
то, что он работает медленно, скорее всего виновато то, что на
него не выставлен UDMA или связка винт+контроллер не умеет
корректно работать в UDMA-режиме.
Приведите модель материнской платы+ее чипсет, модель диска и то,
что выдадут от рута
1) hdparm -i /dev/hda
2) hdparm -tT /dev/hda
Если винт не hda, поправьте на правильное.
