Проходили подобное. Домашняя машинка. Видео -- Radeon 64M DDR
(одна из первых моделей, ИМХО), Slackware 8.1, gatos собран с
CVS примерно трехмесячной давности и установлен согласно
инструкции. XFree86 4.2.0, в конфиге указано, что driver ati.
Временное решение (не надо только смеяться, копать сырцы времени
нет). Не грузим agpgart при стартапе. Пускаем XFree.
Два варианта:
1) Видео нормальное -- работаем далее. Но без 3D.
2) Видео кривоцветное -- выходим из иксов, убиваем модуль
radeon, прогружаем вручную модули agpgart И!!! radeon. Грузим
XFree. Наслаждаемся 3D и нормальным видео.
