Возможно, имеет смысл посмотреть на то, как сделан файл
autoboot.bat. Суть в следующем:
loadlin kernel initrd=image.gz root=rootdevice ...
Загружаем ядро "kernel", используя образ файловой системы из
"image.gz", причем корневая файловая система будет монтироваться
в rootdevice. К сожалению, под рукой дистрибутива нет, так что
могу ошибаться в деталях.
