Может, и не в тему, а может быть, и чем-то поможет. Я тут
как-то уже писал про свой CDROM. Тоже материнка на via чипсете и
проблемы с Panasonic 8x. Лечил играми с hdparm (методом проб и
ошибок ;-] пришел к hdparm -u1 -d1 -k1). Но у меня другие
симптомы были (не lost interrupt, а вместо файлов читался
случайный мусор).
