Поправочка - с 5 окт 2000 ADABAS был выложен в GPL (LGPL для клиентов и
интерфейсов). Называется теперь SAP DB (http:///www.sapdb.org)
IMHO, одна из лучших реляционных баз в природе.
Пишется довольно интенсивно. Непонятно только, почему ее воткнули в SO...
вероятно, из-за скорости. А так -- это весьма продвинутый SQL сервер, на
нем большие ERP работают...
Для OO вообще-то нужна совсем другая база, хотя бы, чтобы покрыть
потребности в картотеках в оффисе...
